PRESENTATION

The training course «Basal Stimulation: An In-Depth Look»focuses on the study and advanced practice of Basal Stimulation, a therapeutic and pedagogical approach to dDeveloped for people with severe disabilities and multiple disabilities. The primary goal of Basal Stimulation is promote development, the communication, perception and the interaction of individuals who have significant difficulties in these areas because of his disability.

Objectives

  • Improve the intervention on bodily boundaries and movement through Somatic Stimulation.

  • Master the use of vibrators and manual techniques in Vibration Stimulation.

  • Apply techniques for Vestibular Stimulation in everyday activities.

  • Strengthen the stimulation taste and smell in everyday life.

  • Develop strategies Visual Aids for Basal Stimulation.

Syllabus

TEACHING UNIT 1. IN-DEPTH EXPLORATION AND REFINEMENT OF SOMATIC STIMULATION APPROACHES: ACTIVITIES FOR INTERVENTION FOCUSING ON BODY AWARENESS AND MOVEMENT. ACTIVITIES OF DAILY LIVING AND SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES.

TEACHING UNIT 2. IN-DEPTH STUDY AND ADVANCED TRAINING IN VIBRATION STIMULATION: THE USE OF VIBROMASSAGE DEVICES AND MANUAL TECHNIQUES.

TEACHING UNIT 3. IN-DEPTH STUDY AND REFINEMENT OF VESTIBULAR STIMULATION TECHNIQUES: FROM EXTERNAL MOVEMENT TO ROTATION. ACTIVITIES OF DAILY LIVING AND SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES. SIMULATION, ANALYSIS, AND SUPERVISION OF CLASSROOM PRACTICE.

TEACHING UNIT 4. IN-DEPTH STUDY AND REFINEMENT OF TASTE AND SMELL STIMULATION ACTIVITIES. Activities of Daily Living and Specific Activities. Simulation, Analysis, and Supervision of Classroom Practice.

TEACHING UNIT 5. IN-DEPTH EXPLORATION AND REFINEMENT OF VISUAL STIMULATION STRATEGIES: SEEING TO OBSERVE AND INTERACT—DAILY LIVING ACTIVITIES AND SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES.

TEACHING UNIT 6. ACTIVITIES OF DAILY LIVING AND EDUCATIONAL INTERVENTION: PUTTING THE “24-HOUR” CONCEPT INTO PRACTICE. EVALUATION AND IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS OF THE REALITY AT THE SCHOOL.

TEACHING UNIT 7. ACTIVITIES OF DAILY LIVING AND COMPREHENSIVE INTERVENTION: PUTTING THE “24-HOUR” CONCEPT INTO PRACTICE. EVALUATION AND IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS OF THE REALITY AT THE CENTER.

TEACHING UNIT 8. FROM THEORY TO PRACTICE: OVERALL PERSPECTIVE AND MODULATING PRINCIPLES AS CORNERSTONES OF PROGRAMMING AND EVALUATION. DESIGNING INDIVIDUAL RECORDS FOR IMPLEMENTING AND EVALUATING BASIC STIMULATION.
