PRESENTATION

This training program in English A1 provides you with basic training in the subject. It’s important to know that the English is a language spoken all over the world, since it is the native language spoken by more than 400 million people and is the foreign language most studied. Therefore, if you're thinking about learning a second language, English is the best option. This training program will equip students with the knowledge they need to function in conversations of everyday life, thereby obtaining a Level A1. With the implementation of this training program in English A1, students will acquire the vocabulary necessary to function in everyday situations and on sightseeing tours to foreign countries.

Objectives

  • Understanding and Using everyday expressions very commonly used.

  • Interact with simple way as long as the other person speaks slowly and clearly.

  • To study the verbs with particles that are used very frequently.

Syllabus

TEACHING UNIT 1. Lexical-Semantic Content

  1. Basic vocabulary related to:
  2. Tickets, prices, and schedules. Tourism: countryside, beach, mountains. Vacations, types of accommodations (rentals, hotels, camping), documents, luggage.
  3. Formation of very common words: girlfriend, policeman.
  4. Most common affixes: cleaner, unhappy, impossible.
  5. Introduction to antonyms (tall-short) and words with similar meanings (table, desk).
  6. The Most Common False Friends ("conductor," "library").
  7. Abbreviations of commonly used words (bike, fridge).
  8. Verbs with particles that are used very frequently (get up, come in).
  9. Introduction to some basic phrases: make a mistake, ask a question.

  1. Prayer
  2. Nouns and Adjectives
  3. Determinants
  4. Pronouns

TEACHING UNIT 3. Spelling Concepts

  1. The Alphabet. Spelling.
  2. Graphical representation of phonemes and sounds:
  3. Capitalization of proper nouns for people, places, and other terms: days of the week, months, nationalities, and languages.
  4. Basic use of punctuation marks: period, colon, comma, question mark, exclamation point, apostrophe, and hyphen.
  5. Contracted Forms (didn't, can't)
  6. Commonly used symbols: @, €, £, $

TEACHING UNIT 4. Phonetic and Phonological Content

  1. Vowel sounds and phonemes. Vowel system: Vowels: contrast between long and short vowels.
  2. Consonant sounds and phonemes. Consonant system: Initial and final sequences: pronunciation of consonant clusters
  3. Phonological processes: devoicing, voicing, linking, assimilation, and elision
  4. Stress and Atonicity: Tonal Patterns in the Syntagma. Basic Guidelines for Rhythm and Intonation.
