Surface or dry-chamber centrifugal pumps Surface or dry-chamber screw pumps Isolation systems (valves) TEACHING UNIT 2. SOLIDS SEPARATION SYSTEMS. Pre-treatment in water treatment plants Equipment in a sand and grease separator. Equipment in decanters and thickeners. Equipment for anaerobic sludge digestion Sludge dewatering equipment TEACHING UNIT 3. AGITATION AND AERATION SYSTEMS. Agitation and aeration in biological reactors Agitation in coagulation and flocculation tanks and preparation of chemicals used Air generation equipment (blowers, turbo blowers). Fine- and coarse-bubble aeration. Types of chemicals and storage systems TEACHING UNIT 4. INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROL.
