The color and images in a book, a poster, a brochure, or a tri-fold It is very important, since it represents the first impression we form of them, and it is what will determine whether or not we are interested in delving deeper into the information and content of that material. Therefore, it is essential that the contracted companies understand the graphic design of these products develop graphic design projects based on its initial specifications. This is achieved by creating sketches, selecting and adapting colors, images, and typefaces; creating graphic elements, layouts and final artwork; using computer software; preparing estimates based on the project's specifications and checking quality of the finished product.

Objectives

  • Determine the images to include in a graphic design project, based on the instructions provided for its completion.

  • Capture and edit selected images, adjusting technical parameters and maintaining specific calibration settings and color profiles for the creation.

  • Reproducing Color in Workflows for the production of the graphic output, while maintaining consistency and taking into account the fundamentals of colorimetry and the principles of color management.

  • Digitally retouch the images, taking the specifications into account posterior system techniques printing or output.

  • Configure the settings in the design software for the subsequent creation of graphic elements so that the result obtained is viable in the different printing systems.

  • Create illustrations in accordance with the Technical and Project Specifications using vector drawing software and graphics tablet.

  • Send the completed illustrations to the different suppliers or customers using the various systems of communication and ensuring the quality of the shipment.

Modes: – Bitmap, grayscale, duotone, RGB, CMYK. – Differences and suitability of use. Graphics tablets: – Types, advantages, disadvantages. Output formats TEACHING UNIT 2. CREATING GRAPHIC ELEMENTS USING VECTOR DRAWING SOFTWARE Types or classification: – Symbols, pictograms, figurative elements, abstract elements. History and trends in illustration. Illustration techniques. Selecting the appropriate type of illustration for each case. Techniques for working with multiple images. Techniques for working with typography.
