Currently, the sustainable buildings are in increasingly high demand, as the impact of construction on the environment continues to grow. With this training program in Environmental Certification of Buildings You will be able to navigate the industry and identify the main characteristics of the various assessment systems sustainability in construction, its requirements technical and documentary, as well as its work methodology and stages of the certification process, in order to determine the most appropriate evaluation system for each case.

TEACHING UNIT 1. INTRODUCTION TO ENVIRONMENTAL CERTIFICATION SYSTEMS:

  1. What is meant by a sustainable building?.
  2. Sustainability Measurement Systems in Building Construction.
  3. Sustainability assessment systems.
  4. Sustainability Standards.
  5. Assessment tools.
  6. Common Characteristics and Trends.
  7. Analysis of environmental impact categories: energy, atmosphere, water, materials, waste, biodiversity, etc.

TEACHING UNIT 2. INTERNATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL CERTIFICATION SYSTEMS FOR BUILDINGS:

  1. LEED Certification: Evaluation System, Requirements, and Certification Process.
  2. Other international environmental certification systems for buildings: BREEAM, CASBEE, DGNB, iiSBE, HQE.

TEACHING UNIT 3. NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL CERTIFICATION SYSTEMS FOR BUILDINGS:

  1. BREEAM.ES Certification: Assessment System, Requirements, and Certification Process.
  2. Other national certification systems: VERDE, GUIAS IHOBE, CENER Seal, etc.
